"My family's first experience was when our youngest daughter Sarah needed therapy for a sports injury on her ankle from running high school track in 2004.
We asked Sarah's primary care Physician to write a referral to Michigan Rehabilitation Specialists (MRS) in Hartland because it was close to home. After Sarah had received 3 or 4 treatments, MRS learned that our insurance would not pay for Sarah's treatment. MRS continued to treat Sarah without payment because they wanted to finish what they started. MRS completed Sarah's physical therapy and helped her continue running track and helping her team. When my wife needed therapy this summer for her hip and leg pain she asked for a referral to MRS and was given approval by our insurance company. She experienced relief from the pain on the first visit and continued to improve with each visit. She came home with good things to say about her treatment and the wonderful staff at MRS.
As these things tend to go I was fighting back pain most of the summer and thought I just needed to take it easy and it would get better. When the pain became too much to function with I went to my Physician and he recommended physical therapy. I asked for a referral to MRS. My experience mirrored my wife's and I also felt some relief after the first visit.
We have both graduated from MRS and have taken with us stretches and exercises that should help us avoid the pain and discomfort for the future.
